30 Days of Posting
Back to weekly now
As part of Inkhaven, I posted every day during November. You might have noticed.
Prior to Inkhaven, I posted weekly. Now that Inkhaven is done, I plan to do the same. Starting with this post, which you are reading now.
What did I write about?
Feelings, mostly. And parenting. Here. Have a graph.
I’ll recommend a favorite from each (fuzzy) category, then move on.
Feelings Posts
My favorite feelings post was Tired of the Vibe, which tries to capture a weariness I feel with certain ways of thinking and being. Increasingly, I find my objection to AI risk arguments, or some guy asking me if I’d also eat a human child when I’m eating beef jerky, or doom-and-gloom more broadly, exists on a separate plane from rational argument. I’m just not feeling it!
Other feelings post highlights are The Golden Age, on a vibe I do like, and A Dialogue on Maladies, on orienting toward illness.
Parenting Posts
My favorite parenting post was Expecting the Worst Quintile, on how culture primes parents to think parenting will be harder than it is. On average. It’s a whole thing.
Or for a sassier parenting take, there’s On Posting Baby Pictures, which is about how I have no idea if I should do that or not.
Aesthetics Posts
What I mean by “aesthetics” here is video games, music, and clothes. Like this album review, of Jamie Paige’s Bittersweet, which you should listen to. Or read, depending on how you interpreted that antecedent. But mostly listen to.
Alternatively, if you were wondering what I drape over my body, here are Some Clothes I’ve Enjoyed. A nice lady in the Whole Foods parking lot complimented me on the color of the very first one. That little true story is what we in the business call “clickbait.”
Society Posts
Did you know we live in a society? Containing, among other things, gender? I am only just hearing of this, and it warrants investigation. Such as, for example, the fact that Men Can Be (Pleasantly) Objectified Too.
Or, if you want to get even spicier, my foray into never before seen (because I made it up on the spot) evolutionary psychology can be found within the question Is Self-Reliance Masculine?

You can choose your own adventure.

Or if you, like multiple of my family members, are wondering what this weird Muse thing is doing spamming your inbox when you only ever signed up for Quaternion Daydream, here’s the explanation.
What Did I Learn?
That blog coaching is:
A lot of fun
Exhausting
A real thing
I’m as surprised as the rest of you. But I did indeed coach many bloggers. I read all their posts, and helped them as best I could. And now they are scattered to the winds, sharing their takes in each corner of this lovely, verdant world. May we all bloom!
I also learned that when you post every day for a month, and change your blog name in the middle of that same month, only 5 of your subscribers will think better of their readership. To the rest of you, I offer my thanks.
And maybe someday I’ll escape from my Promotions tab.
