This made me think a bit about growth vs fixed mindset, but mainly it made me think about deceptive presentations of difficulty that initially intimidate, either because they are deceivingly terrifying (scared dog snarling but ready to run), or because they require a novel response set, awkward to initially achieve but relatively easy to master (roller skating).
